How to find products to sell on E-bay

Now this is where the fun begins. We are going to start shopping for products to sell for profit!

Finding Products

By using the Product Sources contained in this package, you will be able to find wholesalers and drop shippers for your products. Again, with the drop-shippers, you don't need to buy the product before you sell it, but it costs a little more than buying in bulk. Some of the dropshippers charge a small fee for setting up an account with them, some do not. However, you may find a better selection at the ones who do. It's a great place to start your business. As your capital increases, you may find yourself in search of better prices from a wholesaler.

A note on Tax ID:

Some drop shipping or wholesale companies will ask you for your Tax ID Number. Don't be alarmed! As your business will be a "sole proprietor" (meaning you are the sole owner and it is not a corporation etc.). In the USA your Tax ID Number or "TIN" is just your social security number.

For our Australian sellers, you will need to apply for an ABN which is an Australian Business Number. You can do this over the net. The web address for the ATO (Australian Taxation Office) is www.ato.gov.au (liink opens in new window).

You may take a moment to browse around the wholesale sources, get a feel for what kinds of products you would like to sell. If there are any dropshippers or wholesalers that you would like to use who require you to open an account, let's take care of that now. If you are planning on making a purchase from a wholesaler, go ahead and take care of that now as well. The sooner you place your order, the sooner it will arrive.

When you are ready to start listing items in your E-bay Store, it's time to move onto Step Five - Creating Auctions!
